Linda Spirou is a degree-qualified Melbourne Naturopath with a clinical focus on gut health, IBS, SIBO and microbiome restoration.
Combining evidence-based naturopathic care with microbiome testing, nutritional therapy, herbal medicine and personalised dietary strategies
A lot of naturopaths will claim to treat gut health, few are actually certified to analyse your microbiome and treat your gut health.

Why Did Linda Become a Naturopath?
Linda's interest in gut health is personal.

In her mid-30s, Linda was diagnosed with IBS despite having always considered herself health-conscious. Experiencing persistent digestive symptoms firsthand showed her just how disruptive gut problems can be and prompted her to look more deeply into digestive health.

This experience ultimately led Linda to enrol in a Bachelor of Health Science in Naturopathy at Endeavour College of Natural Health.

Her own digestive concerns continued throughout her studies, which further deepened her interest in the gut microbiome. Working with naturopaths who took the time to genuinely listen to her experience changed the way Linda approached her own health and helped shape the type of practitioner she wanted to become.

Today, that experience influences Linda's clinical approach. She places significant importance on listening carefully to a client's history, understanding the broader picture and helping people make sense of what may be contributing to their digestive symptoms.

Meet Linda Spirou

Linda's Unique Approach
Linda's approach begins with building a clearer understanding of each client's gut health.

Where appropriate, microbiome testing can be used alongside a client's symptoms, health history, diet and lifestyle to help identify areas that may require additional support.

Linda can then use targeted strategies involving prebiotics, herbal medicine, nutritional therapy and personalised dietary recommendations to support the gut environment and help build greater long-term resilience.

Elimination diets and low-FODMAP diets can be valuable tools when used appropriately, but Linda does not believe that avoiding increasing numbers of foods indefinitely should be the end goal.

Instead, her focus is on understanding why certain foods may not currently be well tolerated, supporting the underlying gut environment and, where appropriate, gradually working toward greater dietary variety.
The aim is to help clients feel more confident around food rather than remaining stuck on increasingly restrictive diets.
